SADGA (South African Disabled Golf Association) was set up in 2004 to enable disabled golfers to enjoy and compete in the golf arena. Retief is one of SADGAS Patrons.
SADGA's objectives are to encourage every South African with a permanent disability to play golf. To promote golf as a viable form of rehabilitation and recreation for the disabled. To bring together able and disabled golfers to share their love for the game, in the spirit of friendship and competition. To create a public awareness of challenges facing disabled golfers, and to highlight their achievements

SADGA provides clinics throughout South Africa for disadvantaged, disabled youngsters introducing them to golf and the job opportunities within the industry. Regional Days are held in five Regional centres on a monthly basis encouraging disabled golfers to compete against able-bodied, the only difference between them being their golf handicap. The Nedbank SA Disabled Golf Open is held annually with a field of local and international players representing all areas of disability.
