Last week at the Dunhill it was tough, my first round 67 was a good start but the weather played a big part in the week and I wasn't able to keep the consistency. It was a great week though and I enjoyed playing with Ted Forstmann.
This week I spent a couple of days back home in South Africa, when I attended the launch of a new golf course in Rustenburg, called the Waterkloof Golf Resort. The area around the golf resort is stunning and I look forward to playing the course once it’s finished.
Next week I was due to play in the Portugal masters at the Oceanico Victoria Club in Vilamoura but due to my invitation to the Grand Slam I have had to change my schedule. I really enjoy Portugal and, Oceanico have made a big commitment down in Portugal and I am sorry I won't be there to support them. Also disappointed to be missing the opening of 2 new courses, the Christy O’Connor course and the Nick Faldo course at the new Oceanico, Amendoeira Golf Resort. When I was down there last year, although the courses were not finished you could tell from the layout and the scenery that they were going to be stunning courses and I believe from comments so far that they are indeed courses not to be missed. The opening of both courses will be on Monday (13th Oct) and 46 of the European Tour players will be playing in a special Pro Am to celebrate the launch. I hope to be able to put in the diary some time to travel to Portugal in the not to distant future, not only to see the progress of my property at Amendoeira but also to play both courses.
However, I am of course looking forward in playing the PGA Grand Slam where the four major winners are invited each year to play against each other and to win the coveted trophy of Grand Slam winner. This year with Padraig winning two of the 2008 majors and Tiger out injured, Jim Furyk and I have been invited to join Padraig Harrington and Trevor Immelman. It's the first time I've been to Bermuda so am delighted to have been invited, though have played in the Grand Slam event a couple of times.
Thanks for all your messages and emails and once I'm back from Bermuda I hope to be able to answer some more of your questions.
